An image I created a few years ago for an exhibition all about folk songs and ballads. I took my inspiration from one of my favourite folk songs, The Cottagers Reply, an old song re-recorded by Chris Wood. The words are wonderful and my favourite section is this:
‘Now they’re all gone but as for me,
The wild hare still runs as free,
And at dusk the badger travels still,
Ancestral highways on the hill.
I am as Cotswold born as these,
And I still need these fields and trees,
And I need the soil that bore my race,
And holds their bones beneath this place’.Beneath this Place limited edition signed and numbered print is the brand new release of this very popular image. It is released on a short small run of images and only available in this format until Christmas 2022.
